Violence against Women, Domestic Violence and Gender-Based Violence
On April 21, 2026, the Academy of Justice in cooperation with the Council of Europe, the Project on Approximation of Laws and Policies with the Istanbul Convention within the framework of the Continuous Training Program are conducting the training “Violence against Women, Domestic Violence and Gender-Based Violence”.
The trainers involved are: Mr. Sultan Dobraj, Judge at the Basic Court in Gjakova, Ms. Leonora Kadriu, Prosecutor at the Basic Prosecution Office in Gjilan and Dr. Ariana Qosaj Mustafa, local expert engaged by the Council of Europe.
The purpose of the training is to build the capacities of the legal framework on the main concepts, local normative frameworks and laws related to Violence against Women (VAW), Domestic Violence (DV) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
The methodology of this training includes “Violence against Women and Domestic Violence”, which covers the Istanbul Convention and relevant local laws and policies on DV, DV and GBV. It is also proposed that the rest of the training be in-person to provide participants with the opportunity to reflect on how to apply these principles in practice in their work.
Beneficiaries of this training are: Judges, prosecutors and officers from the Police Inspectorate from Kosovo.
