Family Law and Domestic Violence

On December 4, 2025, the Academy of Justice, in cooperation with GIZ and within the framework of the Continuous Training Program, conducted a Basic Module training for professional associates and legal officers in the civil field on the topic “Family Law and Domestic Violence.”

The training will be delivered by Mr. Valon Totaj, President of the Court of Appeal, and Mr. Faton Ademi, Judge of the Supreme Court of Kosovo.

The objective of this program is to enhance participants’ knowledge in key areas, including: Marriage and dissolution of marriage; Procedures for resolving marital disputes; Interim measures and available remedies; Protection of children’s rights in marital and family disputes; Domestic violence and recent changes introduced by the new law.

The training methodology combines theoretical instruction with interactive discussions, ensuring both conceptual understanding and practical engagement.

The beneficiaries of this training include professional associates and legal officers from all civil divisions of Kosovo courts, Officers from the Free Legal Aid Agency, representatives from non-governmental organizations.
