Empathy towards victims, Guidelines and responsibilities for the implementation of the Transitional Justice Strategy

On 08 May 2026, the Academy of Justice, in cooperation with INTEGRA, within its Continuous Training Program, is conducting the training “Empathy towards victims, Guidelines and responsibilities for the implementation of the Transitional Justice Strategy.”

The trainers are Ms. Milena Djerić, Judge of the Supreme Court, and Ms. Albina Shabani Rama, Judge of the Appellate Court.

Purpose of the Training is to strengthen participants’ capacities by emphasizing that Transitional Justice (TJ) is a long-term process designed to build a culture of accountability, Reinforce the rule of law, Respect individual and collective rights, including the right to truth, access to justice, and addressing massive human rights violations.

The training Methodology will be delivered through interactive and practical approaches, including: Presentations and group discussions, case studies and role-play exercises, videos and multimedia materials to illustrate concepts, as well as question-and-answer sessions to clarify issues.

Beneficiaries of the training are judges from the Basic Court, and prosecutors from the Appellate and Basic Prosecution Offices.
