Trial in Absentia

On April 10, 2025, the Academy of Justice, within the Continuous Training Program, is conducting a training on the topic “Trial in Absentia”.

The trainers egaged in this training are: Mr. Agim Maliqi, judge at the Supreme Court of Kosovo; Mr. Atdhe Dema, prosecutor at the Kosovo Special Prosecution Office.

The purpose of this training is to advance the knowledge of the participants that according to the provision of the KPCK in cases where the presence of the defendant cannot be ensured after reasonable efforts, then the trial may be held without the presence of the defendant.

The methodology of the training is interactive discussion, presentation of cases from the judicial practice of Kosovo, case studies from the judicial practice of the ECHR.\

The beneficiaries of this training are: Judges and Prosecutors from the Basic level.
