Harmonization of judicial practice on firearms, drugs and organized crime cases
On November 21, 2024, the Academy of Justice in cooperation with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime - UNODC - Global Firearms Program, within the Continuous Training Program, are conducting the training on "Harmonization of judicial practice, - for firearms, drugs and organized crime".
Engaged trainers are: Mr. Agim Maliqi, Judge at the Supreme Court, Mr. Afrim Shala, Judge at the Supreme Court, Mr. Gjelal Bajrami, Prosecutor in Skopje, Mrs. Teuta Bediu Ramadani, Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Kumanovo, Mr. Hasan Asani, President of the Basic Court in Tetovo and Mrs. Manjola Kajana, Prosecutor, Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime Tirana (SPAK).
The training aims to extend the knowledge of judges and prosecutors regarding firearms, focusing on the context in which firearms are presented in legal cases.
The special feature of this training is the publication of "Summary of cases selected from judicial practice related to firearms" authored by Agim Maliqi and Afrim Shala, judges from the Supreme Court of Kosovo.
The training methodology is of a combined character with theoretical explanations and interactive discussions, also presenting practical cases.
Beneficiaries are: judges, prosecutors of different instances from Albania and North Macedonia, the Director of the School of Magistrates of Albania, Judges and Prosecutors from the Appeal instance and Basic instance from different regions of Kosovo.
