Judicial Protection of Children's Rights in Cases of Opposition or Confirmation of Maternity/Paternity

On June 11, 2026, the Academy of Justice, within the Continuous Training Program, will conduct training on “Judicial Protection of Children's Rights in Cases of Opposition or Confirmation of Maternity/Paternity.”

Trainers are Mr. Valon Totaj, President of the Court of Appeal, and Mr. Bedri Bahtiri, Professor at the University of Pristina.

Purpose: The training aims to enhance participants’ knowledge regarding the protection of children's rights in procedures for the confirmation and opposition of maternity/paternity. It emphasizes the fair implementation of local and international legislation and the consistent application of the principle of the best interests of the child in judicial practice.

The methodology in this program combines theoretical explanations with interactive discussions and the presentation of practical cases.

Beneficiaries are judges from the basic instance across all regions, an official from the Center for Social Welfare, and an official for Victim Protection and Assistance.
