Freedom of Expression and Judicial Protection in cases of violation of Freedom of Expression - Specialized Training for Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPPs)

On October 02-03, 2024, the Academy of Justice in cooperation with the Council of Europe project PROFREX, within the Continuous Training Program, are conducting the training on the topic "Freedom of Expression and Judicial Protection in cases of violation of freedom of expression - Specialized training on Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPPs)".

Engaged trainers are Mr. Peter NOORLANDER, consultant of the Council of Europe and Mrs. Flutura KUSARI, consultant of the Council of Europe.

The purpose of this training is to advance the knowledge of the participants about the best judicial practice of the European Court of Human Rights regarding SLAPP lawsuits, related to the interpretation and application of human rights in the context of freedom of expression.

The training methodology is interactive discussion, case studies, group exercises, public opinion polls, debates encouraged by trainers specialized in the field of freedom of expression, evaluation exams.

Beneficiaries of this training are judges from the Appeals Court, judges and prosecutors of the basic instance courts and prosecution offices from different regions of Kosovo.
