Effective Legal Remedies under Article 13 of the ECHR: Case Law of the ECtHR in Civil and Criminal Matters

May 20th 2025, the Academy of Justice in cooperation with the Council of Europe’s Project Support to the Constitutional Court in Applying and Disseminating European Human Rights Standards, within the Continuous Training Program, is conducting the training on Effective Legal Remedies under Article 13 of the ECHR: Case Law of the ECtHR in Civil and Criminal Matters.

The trainers involved are: Ms. Gresa Caka-Nimani, former President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, and Ms. Valdete Daka, judge at the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kosovo.

Purpose of this training is to advance the participants' knowledge of the right to an effective remedy, which is an essential component of human rights under the (ECHR) and other human rights instruments.

The training methodology is combined through the interactive method of discussion and elaboration of cases, group work by presenting practical cases.

Beneficiaries of this training are: prosecutors from the Appellate Prosecution, judges and prosecutors from the Basic instance from all regions of Kosovo as well as professional associates.
