Module: Domestic Violence in Civil Matters

During July 11, 15, and 21, 2025, the Academy of Justice under the Initial Training Program for newly appointed judges of the thirteenth generation, conducted three theoretical training sessions from the module on Domestic Violence in Civil Matters under the curriculum on Legislation and Complementary Skills. This module was conducted with the support of the trainer Mr. Fahret Velija, judge at the Basic Court in Prizren.

This module addressed the following: Domestic violence in civil aspect; prevention and protection from domestic violence; violence against women and gender based violence and protective measures based on domestic violence.

The training methodology used interactive discussions method based on practical cases.

This module also facilitated a trial simulation that was conducted in the Supreme Court premises, supported by the trainer Ms. Shenaj Berisha, prosecutors in the Special Prosecutor’s Office.

Beneficiaries of the training are 21 newly appointed judges, including one member from the Serbian community, 2025/2026.
