Module: Family Law

During February 10-27 and on March 03, 2025, the Academy of Justice within the Initial Program for newly appointed judges of the twelfth generation, conducted 7 sessions of theoretical training from the module on the Family Law within the framework of the curriculum on Civil, Administrative and Economic Laws. This module was conducted with the support of the trainer Mr. Valon Totaj, President of the Court of Appeals, and Ms. Drita Rexhaj, judge at the Court of Appeals.

This module covered the following: Family law, the meaning of family, sources of family law, gender and types of gender, marital law, rights and duties of spouses, dissolution of marriage and divorce procedure, maintenance obligation and parental rights, opposition and confirmation of maternity or paternity, adoption, property relations between spouses and trial simulation.

The training methodology was developed using an interactive and case-based method; this module also included a trial simulation that conducted in the courtroom (Supreme Court).

The beneficiaries of the training are 31 newly appointed judges including one member of the Bosnian community.
