Module: The defendant in the criminal proceeding

During July 28-29, and on September 1st 2025, Academy of Justice within the Initial Training Program for the newly appointed prosecutors of the eleventh generation, conducted three sessions of the theoretical training from the module on “The defendant in the criminal proceeding” under the curriculum scope on “the criminal Procedure Code”. This module is conducted with the support of the trainer Mrs. Jehona Grantolli, prosecutor in the Basic Prosecution in Prishtina.

This module elaborated on the following: the defendant as a subject to the criminal procedure, and statement of the defendant as evidence, his/her rights and obligations during the criminal proceeding, position of the defendant after the indictment is raised, and during the judicial hearing, as well as the defendant in special procedures, as well as the procedure for the international legal cooperation.

The training methodology is conducted through the interactive discussion method and based in practical cases.

Beneficiaries of the training are 24 newly appointed prosecutors 2025/2026.
