Module: ECHR

During May 12th through 22nd, 2025, the Academy of Justice within the Initial Training Program for newly appointed judges of the thirteenth generation conducted 10 training sessions for the Module on ECHR, within the scope of the Curriculum on the National and International Legal Order.

This Module is delivered by trainers Mr. Hajredin Kuqi professor in the University of Prishtina, Mr. Skënder Çoçaj judge in the Court of Appeals, and Ms. Habibe Salhu, prosecutor in the Special Prosecutor’s Office.

This module covered the following aspects: The role and importance of the Council of Europe, the European Court of Human Rights and the European Convention on Human Rights; Article 2 - the Right to Life; Article 5 - the Right to Liberty and Security, procedural safeguards in cases of deprivation of liberty; Article 6 of the ECHR; Article 10 - Freedom of Expression; the European Convention for Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms - Protection of Journalists and Whistleblowers.

The training methodology is interactive discussions method and case-based approach.

Beneficiaries of this training are 21 newly appointed judges including one members of the Serbian community 2025/2026.
