Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Academy of Justice of Kosovo and the Justice Academy of Türkiye, including regional workshop in the commercial field with the participation of judges from Kosovo and Albania

On February 27, 2023 in Antalya, Türkiye, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Kosovo Academy of Justice and the Turkey Academy of Justice.

The agreement has been signed by the Director of the Turkey Academy of Justice Mr. Muhittin Ozdemir and the Executive Director of the Kosovo Academy of Justice Mr. Enver Fejzullahu in the presence of delegations from Kosovo and Albania taking part in the regional workshop on Commercial Justice and the Case Law on Property Intellectual Rights

This workshop is the result of cooperation and prior coordination of training institutions from Turkiye, Kosovo and Albania. In this workshop, Kosovo was represented by the Academy of Justice, Kosovo Judicial Council and Commercial Court of Kosovo. Whereas, Albania was represented by judges from the commercial field led by the School of Magistrates of Albania.

Through this agreement, the Kosovo Academy of Justice and the Türkiye Academy of Justice pledged to continue and strengthen the excellent cooperation between them in the justice field and the rule of law, namely in the exchange of experiences and other activities of common interest.

Parallel to the Agreement ceremony, a regional workshop on Commercial Law and the Case Law on Intellectual Property Rights is being carried out. This workshop aims to inform the participants about the activities of the Academy of Justice in Türkiye, legal regulations in the commercial field in Türkiye, in particular intellectual property, patents, trademarks, the International Trade Convention and judicial practices.

Part of the lectures were judges, experts and professors from Türkiye, such as Prof. Fulurya Yusufoglu from Galatasaray University, as well as judges Selin Selcuk, Dr. Yasemin Yucesoy, Ata Durak, Selin Sert, Seda Duysak, Yusuf Sahin and Sahin Cifti.
