Specialized Training Program on War Crimes– Session II

On November 01-02, 2023, the Academy of Justice in cooperation with the Humanitarian Law Fund, within the framework of the Continuous Training Program, conducted a training on: " War Crimes” - Session II".

Trainers engaged were: Mrs. Drita Hajdari, SPRK prosecutor, Mr. Petko Petkov, former judge in EULEX, Mr. Paul Flynn, former prosecutor in UNMIK and EULEX, Mr. Valon Kurtaj, judge at the Basic Court in Pristina and Mr. Amer Alija, lawyer & FDHK.

The purpose of this training was to advance the knowledge of the participants regarding the criminal law in general as implemented in Kosovo, which deals with the criminal offenses of war crimes, as well as the criminal legislation in force at the time of the commission of the criminal offense or the law most favorable to the perpetrators of these criminal offenses.

The training methodology is of a combined character with theoretical explanations and interactive discussions, followed by practical cases.

Beneficiaries of this training are: Judge from the Court of Appeal, Judge from the Basic Court, Special Department, Prosecutors from the Special Prosecution and professional associate from the Special Prosecution Office.
