Training program for judges and prosecutors in the initial training with non-judicial institutions - visit to the "Kosovo Probation Service"

On February 15, 2023, within the framework of practical training with non-judicial institutions for newly appointed judges and prosecutors of the ninth generation, the Academy of Justice conducted a visit/training to the "Kosovo Probation Service".

Purpose of this training was for newly appointed judges and prosecutors to be informed of the role, function and responsibilities of the Probation Service of Kosovo, the trainer engaged by this institution is Mr. Halit Ibrahimi, Leader in the Directorate of the Probation Service Center of Kosovo.

In the framework of this training, the establishment, organization, and functions of the Probation Service of Kosovo were presented. The activity of the Probation Service, the implementation and supervision of the execution of alternative punishments, the re-integration of convicted persons, the supervision and assistance to perpetrators of criminal offenses addicted to drugs or alcohol who are subject to mandatory rehabilitation treatment were also addressed. as well as assistance to convicted persons released on bail.

The focus of this training was on the discussion by judges and prosecutors on the raising of social awareness and cooperation with all bodies of state power for the humanity of the execution of sentences against minors.

The beneficiaries of the training are the newly appointed judges and prosecutors (generation IX) including one member of the Bosnian community.
