Training program in non-judicial institutions, visit by newly appointed judges in the Police of the Republic of Kosovo

On November 8, 2023, the Academy of Justice, within the framework of the Initial Training Program, for the newly appointed judges of the tenth generation, has organized a visit/training to the Kosovo Police, with trainers and with the support of the representatives Mr. Musli Salihu, Major in the Police of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Skender Rrahmani, captain as well as from other legal representatives, Mr. Fatos Haziri, director of the training department, Mr. Riza Shillova director of the department for criminal investigations, Arben Paqarizi Directorate for International Police Cooperation-ILECU and Mr. Joy Dibrani. Directorate of Strategic Planning and Legal Affairs.

The purpose of the visit to this institution was for the newly appointed judges to be informed about the mandate, role, organizational structure and practical work of the Kosovo Police. During this visit, the judges advanced their knowledge about the legal basis and Kosovo Police departments for organized crime and types of financial investigations, the international cooperation in the field of law enforcement that Kosovo has with other countries, as well as the challenges they face members of the police who are connected with the work of the judge. Judges also had the opportunity to raise issues of interest for their practical work, where one of the important issues related to cybercrime as well as that joint border investigations. The participants were also informed that in the future during their work they will have a close and real cooperation with the Police of the Republic of Kosovo.

The training methodology followed in a combined way that of conversation and illustrating practical cases.

The beneficiaries of this training were the newly appointed judges and prosecutors (generation X).
