
Training program in non-judicial institutions - Visit of newly appointed judges to the High Security Prison - Generation XII
May 23, 2025, Academy of Justice within the practical training program for the newly appointed judges (generation 12) in non-judicial institutions conducted a visit to the High Security Prison in Gërdoc.
The scope of the visits organized by the Academy’s Initial Training Program in non-judicial institutions covers also the Kosovo Correctional Service, where this time the judges had the opportunity to visit the high security prison. Mr. Rasim Selmani Director of the High Security Prison in Dyz welcomed the judges and acknowledged importance of their visit, he expressed high appreciation of the cooperation with the Academy of Justice, and he further continued with an outline of the mandate, history and challenges of this institution.
The director and other representatives of this institution provided information to the newly appointed judges, where they were informed about the work that is done in the high-security prison, how prisoners are treated, the conditions it has, as well as the implementation of procedures.
The newly appointed judges also had the opportunity to see closely the wards, the residential area, the visitors' rooms, the intelligence unit, the outpatient clinic where prisoners are treated, and the assessment and classification unit.
Beneficiaries of this visit are 31 newly appointed judges including one member from the Bosnian community.
