Training Program at non-judicial institutions – Visit by newly appointed judges to the Kosovo Police

On September 15, 2026, as part of the initial training program for the 14th and 15th generations of judges, the Academy of Justice conducted a visit to the Kosovo Police.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Fatos Sejdiu welcomed the newly appointed judges, noting the importance of the visit's objective and highly commending the cooperation with the Academy of Justice; he then proceeded to discuss the institution's mandate, role, and competencies regarding security and mutual cooperation within the justice sector.

The visit aimed to familiarize the newly appointed judges with the mandate, role, organizational structure, and practical operations of the Kosovo Police. During this visit, the judges enhanced their knowledge regarding the legal framework and the Kosovo Police departments dedicated to organized crime and financial investigations, as well as Kosovo's international law enforcement cooperation with other states. They also explored challenges faced by police officers that intersect with judicial work, taking the opportunity to raise issues relevant to their practical duties—specifically discussing topics such as cybercrime and joint cross-border investigations.

Furthermore, the participants were informed that, in the course of their future work, they would maintain close and substantive cooperation with the Kosovo Police. The beneficiaries of this visit were 19 newly appointed judges from the 14th generation, and 18 from the 15th generation, including two judges from the Serbian community.
