Training of Trainers on Transitional Justice

On 24 March 2026, the Academy of Justice, in cooperation with the project “Promoting the Human Rights-Based Approach in the Justice Sector” — implemented by INTEGRA with the support of the UN Human Rights component and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Geneva) — is organizing a Training of Trainers on Transitional Justice.

This training builds on the ongoing process of implementing the Transitional Justice Strategy within Kosovo’s justice system. Its objective is to design a comprehensive training program, draft curricula, and strengthen the professional capacities of trainers in this field.

The training will continue on 25 March 2026, led by Mr. Qerim Qerimi, Professor at the University of Pristina, and Mr. Baki Svirca, Head of the Transitional Justice Division.

Over two days, participants will receive guidance on both the methodology of training and the practical skills needed for future capacity-building efforts. The program covers key topics, including: Fundamentals of transitional justice and its approaches, Kosovo’s strategy and legal framework, Accountability and the role of judges and prosecutors, Truth commissions, documentation, archives, and memorialization, Reparations and psychosocial support, Victim-centered approaches and preventive reforms.

The beneficiaries of this Training of Trainers are five judges and eight state prosecutors.
