Training on Geographical Indications and Appellations of Origin

On December 12, 2024, the Justice Academy with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of France and the Kosovo Institute for Intellectual Property, within the framework of the Continuous Training Program, is conducting the training “Geographical Indications and Appellations of Origin”.

The trainer engaged in this training is: Mr. Veli Hoti, lawyer.

Purpose of this training is to extend the participants knowledge on the system of geographical indications in Kosovo, on the procedure for registering geographical indications, the role of product specifications and the connection with the regions from which geographical indications come, the connection of trademarks with geographical indications, the procedures at the institutions for registration, implementation and administration of these rights.

The training methodology is of a combined nature with theoretical explanations and interactive discussions, also presenting cases from judicial practice.

Beneficiaries of this training are Judges from the Commercial Court of Kosovo, officials from Kosovo Customs, the Market Inspectorate, the Kosovo Police and the Industrial Property Agency.
