Refresher training for Intermediaries – Phase II

The Academy of Justice with the support of the Ministry of Justice, the INL program from the United States of America and the KLI organization, during April 12-14, 2024, continued with the second phase of refresher training for mediators licensed in the Republic of Kosovo, covering the region of Mitrovica and Prizren. As in the 1st phase, these trainings were aimed at refreshing knowledge and increasing the professional capacities for the current mediators operating within the Chamber of Mediators. During the three (3) days training, the participants had the opportunity to extend knowledge about the legal overview in the field of Mediation in Kosovo, the opening statements of the mediator, the separate sessions, the drafting of the final agreement. Also, during the training, the participants together with the trainers had the opportunity to simulate mediation sessions, discussing each step of how the mediator should behave with the parties from the beginning. The second phase of refresher training for Mediators is expected to end on April 19-21, concluded with the last training in the Gjakova region, in which case the Academy of Justice marks achjievement of the training delivery for all regions of Kosovo, according to the request of the Ministry of Justice. All trainings are monitored by the FMCS team from the United States of America.
