Specialized practical training on war crimes adjudication

September 21-22 2026, Academy of Justice under the Continuous Training Program in cooperation with the OSCE Mission in Kosovo are conducting a Specialized practical training on war crimes adjudication.

At the opening remarks of this training, Executive Director of the Academy of Justice Mr. Enver Fejzullahu, and the OSCE Ambassador in Kosovo Mr. Gerard McGurk, addressed the participants and emphasized importance of this training in strengthening professional capacities in handling war crime cases.

Trainers engaged for this activity are Mrs. Joanna Korner – judge in the International Criminal Court and Mr. Burim Ademi – judge in the Supreme Court of Kosovo.

Purpose of this training is to strengthen the justice professional’s capacities on the investigation, prosecution and adjudication of war crime cases. The training will address the main material and procedural issues that occur in the war crime procedures, the relevant international standards, the comparative jurisprudence and its application under the Kosovo legal system.

The training methodology will be partially in presentation of theoretical explanations and practical judicial cases, as well as interactive discussions and court case analysis.

Beneficiaries of this training are judges of the Court of Appeals and the Basic Court – Special Department, Prosecutors from the Special Prosecutor’s Office, and professional associates of the judiciary and prosecution.
