Domestic Violence Offences - Effective Criminal Justice Response

During February 4-5 2025, the Justice Academy in cooperation with the Council of Europe’s Project on the Approximation of Laws and Policies with the Istanbul Convention and AIR Center, within the framework of the Continuous Training Program, are implementing the training Domestic Violence Offence - Effective Criminal Justice Response.

Trainers engaged in this activity are Mrs. Shenaj Berisha prosecutors in Basic Prosecution Office in Prishtina, Mr. Zyhdi Haziri, judge in the Appeals Court, Mrs. Gresa Caka-Nimani former judge in the Kosovo Constitutional Court, and Mrs. Ariana Qosaj, national expert of the Council of Europe.

Purpose of this training is to build capacity to provide an effective response to cases of domestic violence, based on concepts and circumstances related to the case, such as: the dynamics of domestic violence, the cycle of power and control, combating common stereotypes about victims and perpetrators of violence, and the interviewing techniques.

Training methodology is of a combined nature with theoretical presentations and interactive discussions on practical cases.

Beneficiaries of this training are judges and prosecutors of the basic instance.
