Criminal Offences Involving Violence Against Women: Criminal Prosecution and Trauma-Informed Trials
On 25–26 November 2025, the Academy of Justice, in cooperation with the Council of Europe through the project Strengthening the Fight against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence – Phase II, is conducting a training session on the topic “Criminal Offences Involving Violence Against Women: Criminal Prosecution and Trauma-Informed Trials”, within the framework of the Continuous Training Programme.
The trainers for this session are: Mr. Sultan Dobraj, Judge at the Basic Court in Gjakova; Ms. Leonora Kadriu, Prosecutor at the Basic Prosecution Office in Gjilan; Ms. Ariana Qosaj Mustafa, Local Expert engaged by the Council of Europe.
The aim of the training is to strengthen professional capacities for effective criminal prosecution and the issuance of trauma-informed judicial decisions, in line with domestic legislation, international standards, and the National Strategy against Domestic Violence and Violence Against Women 2022–2026.
The training methodology includes theoretical instruction, practical exercises, combined lecture approaches, and the use of hypothetical case scenarios.
The beneficiaries of this training are judges and prosecutors at the basic level, as well as Victim Protection and Assistance Officers.
