Trial Advocacy skills

On January 16, 17 and 18 2023, Academy of Justice within the Initial Training Program for the second group of newly appointed judges, is conducting the training module on Trial Advocacy Skills, with trainers Mrs. Laura Pula Prosecutors in the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor, Mr. Agron Qalaj Deputy Chief State Prosecutor, and Mr. Sulltan Dobraj, judge in the Basic Court in Peja.

The first session of the Trial Advocacy skills training covered the direct examination and discussions about the facts in favor and against, then cross examination and the participants were engaged in exercises on cross examination techniques.

The trial advocacy skills development in continuing on its second training day to cover the parts on the opening statement and re-examination skills for all judges.

While on the third day it will continue with the closing statement, the difference between the opening and the closing statements, the presentation of evidence in the judicial examination and will continue with demonstration of re-examination through video criticism and final feedback from trainers.

Beneficiaries of the training are 18 newly appointed judges including one member of the Bosnian community.
