Module: Juvenile Justice Code

On November 19-21, 2024, the Justice Academy within the Initial Training Program, for newly appointed judges of the twelfth generation, conducted three-session theoretical training from the module “Juvenile Justice Code” within the framework of the curriculum “Legislation and Complementary Skills”. This module was delivered with the support of the trainer Mr. Shpetim Peci, Prosecutor at the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Mitrovica.

This module addressed: Guiding principles, definitions, measures and punishments against minors and their selection, imposing measures and punishments on adults for criminal offenses committed as minors, the effect of punishment on educational measures, diversity measures and mediation, educational measures and punishments, preparatory procedure, judicial review and decisions and legal remedies, and the protection of the child as a victim in criminal proceedings.

The training methodology was developed through an interactive and case-based method.

The beneficiaries of the training are 31 newly appointed judges, including one member from the Bosnian community.
