Training Needs Assessment Meetings for 2027 with the Basic Court and Basic Prosecution Office in Peja
As part of the training needs assessment process for drafting the Training Program for 2027, the Academy of Justice has continued the cycle of consultative meetings with courts and prosecution offices. In this case, on July 8, 2026, the Executive Director of the Academy of Justice, together with the leading staff of the Training Program Department, held meetings with the President of the Basic Court and the Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution Office in Peja.
The purpose of these meetings was to identify priorities, challenges and training needs that should be addressed through activities that will be included in the Training Program for 2027, ensuring that the program reflects the most realistic needs of judicial and prosecutorial practice.
During the meeting with the President of the Basic Court in Peja, Mr. Shemsedin Haxhiaj, discussed issues related to the unification of judicial practice in the civil and criminal fields, the seizure and confiscation of property, criminal procedures against perpetrators with mental disorders, trial in absentia, as well as the criminal offenses of defamation and insult.
The meeting continued with the Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution Office in Peja, Ms. Lumturije Vuçetaj, with whom they discussed training priorities in the field of artificial intelligence, investigation and prosecution of cybercrimes, representation skills in trial, as well as the advancement of professional communication skills.
The Academy of Justice remains committed to, through a comprehensive consultation process with the institutions of the justice system, drafting a Training Program that reflects the concrete needs of practice and contributes to the continuous building of the professional capacities of judges and prosecutors, promoting a more efficient, professional and in line with contemporary standards justice system.
