Newly Appointed Judges Visit Kosovo Customs
As part of the Initial Training Program for the newly appointed judges of Generation XII, the Academy of Justice organized a visit to the Customs of the Republic of Kosovo. This initiative aims to enhance the judges’ understanding of non-judicial institutions and their integral roles within the justice system.
During the visit, the newly appointed judges had the opportunity to engage with representatives from Kosovo Customs, gaining valuable insights into the institution’s functions, key responsibilities, and historical development.
Particular emphasis was placed on Kosovo Customs’ role in combating organized crime and other criminal offenses.
The interactive training session, conducted by the trainer Mr. Ajet Sejdija, focused on critical aspects of customs-related criminal offenses.
Topics covered included initial procedures, investigative processes, evidence collection, and the filing of criminal charges. The session also addressed the numerous challenges faced by Kosovo Customs, such as smuggling, consumer fraud, bribery, and the abuse of official duties.
This visit marks a significant step toward strengthening inter-institutional cooperation, enhancing the professional capacities of the newly appointed judges, and ultimately contributing to the delivery of effective justice for the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.
Beneficiaries of the training are the newly appointed judges of the 12th generation.
