On September 21, 2012, KJI conducted the workshop on the topic: “Principles of civil procedure with special emphasis on the principle of a fair trial”.
Relying on the objectives of this seminar, participants will be able to:
• Apply properly the principles of civil procedure contained in the Law on Contested Procedure.
• Evaluate the procedural actions of parties in the application of the principle of a fair trial,
• Deepen their knowledge about the role of the court in the application of this principle.
• Recognize the legal safety effects of this principle.
During the training, important procedural actions of the parties for the application of the principle of a fair trial were addressed, the court's role in the application of this principle, legal safety effects of this principle, as well as cases from the national case-law and the regional one were demonstrated. Also the content of the principle of a fair trial in the context of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms was addressed.
The beneficiaries of this training were civil court judges from all regions of Kosovo.
