On 10 October 2012, KJI organized training on: “International Legal Assistance”.
As a result of this training the participants will be able to:
• Understand the nature of the international legal assistance in criminal matters;
• Distinguish the novelties and the amendments in the national legislation regarding the international legal assistance;
• Identify the possibilities of enhancing the inter-institutional actions with the purpose of implementation of the legal assistance in criminal matters.
During this training were treated issues related to the international legal cooperation in criminal matters with the purpose of increasing the effectiveness of the international legal assistance. A special attention was paid to the role of prosecution office, courts and the Ministry of Justice regarding the extradition procedure, transfer of cases, important evidences found in the requesting state. The training was followed by practical cases used for eliminating difficulties and dilemmas faces during the everyday work.
Beneficiaries of this training were judges and prosecutors from all regions of Kosovo.
